Journey Mental Health Center (JMHC) is currently hiring a Director of Development and Donor Relations. This individual will be a strategic, results-driven, creative, and innovative donor development, donor relationships, and advocacy professional. Key responsibilities include the development, implementation and direction of purposeful Journey fundraising strategies that will meaningfully engage and motive donors in the attainment of fund development goals. The individual will be an ambassador for the organization and will build strong relationships with volunteers, donors, and community leaders. The Director of Development will oversee all JMHC fundraising strategies, eventually recruiting, directing, and managing a fundraising staff and volunteers to engage, solicit and secure donations through various fundraising activities.

  • Influential, credible, confident persona with strong personal stature and authenticity enabling this person to connect with existing/prospective donors in their areas of interest.
  • Proficient in the development of social media, direct mail, and other relevant media outlets to appeal to a broad donor base.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in the construct and utilization of donor platforms/CRMs.
  • Experience and ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and influence senior management and Board of Directors as well as interface with all other constituents, stakeholders, volunteers, partners, and donors.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

A. Fundraising, Strategic Marketing Communications Leadership

  • Fundraising, Strategic Marketing Communications Leadership
  • Partner with the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors to plan, execute, evaluate, and direct cost-effective, results-oriented strategies for donor cultivation (existing and prospective) and solicitation.
  • Provide strategic leadership, planning and oversight for all aspects of the organization’s fundraising/donor development activities aligned with JMHC’s vision, mission and values and the strategic plan.
  • Participate as a member of the leadership team to develop the strategic and operational plans including development and management of the fundraising budget.
  • Develop and oversee donor engagement/fundraising events and promotions in concert with annual goals and objectives

B. Supervision

  • Manage all aspects of departmental staff as it grows, including training, recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring and career development.
  • Oversee the identification, development, and submission of non-programmatic grants designed to support the organization.
  • Manages the organization’s communication staff and provides guidance on internal and external communications.
  • Volunteer recruitment and management

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

A. Required

  • Bachelors or better in Marketing or related field.
  • Bachelors or better in Nonprofit Development and Administration or related field.
  • Bachelors or better in Public Relations or related field.

B. Preferred

  • Masters or better in Marketing or related field.
  • Masters or better in Nonprofit Development and Administration or related field.
  • Masters or better in Public Relations or related field.

Starting salary of $95,000 – $105,000 (Based on Experience)
